The Community of Education and Learning Evidence-based Scholarship (CELEBS) formed at the inaugural retreat of Education Focussed academics in 2017 with the aim of developing expertise and resources to support academic to evaluates their teaching practices.
Led by Dr Rebecca LeBard and Associate Professor Adrienne Torda, the community of practice collaborated to develop “Evaluating Practice” a website to help academics evaluate all aspects of their teaching. The site features 20 videos that draw on the experience of education-focused academics from across UNSW. Their approaches to evaluation provide ideas and methodologies for a variety of purposes, including applying for awards or promotion, designing an online course, or implementing innovative change.
CELEBS has grown to a community of over thirty academics and postgraduate students who meet every month to present and discuss approaches to the evaluation of teaching.
