SOTL Research

Analysing and sharing the efficacy of innovation in education is critical, the Media and Immersive team partners with the academics on executing this form of research within their courses relating to the use of new media or immersive experiences. Specific Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) research findings might be presented or published within the university or out into the academic community.

Project Details

The Media & Immersive team have a ethics approval to apply a range of surveys to students in a class using innovative media, virtual reality or simulations as well as analyse data around the media/app usage. For individual projects, more specific ethics approvals are sought for the specific or detailed research needed.

All data is held and utilised in compliance with the data and security requirements of the university while trying to learn as much as possible about the value of these interventions for classes.

Credits

The team partners with a host of Academics and Educational Designers to conduct, write, publish and present research into the creation, use and efficacy of immersive experiences and simulations. Supporting this effort requires ethics approval processes, data collection, survey creation, technical writing and more.

Xueqing (Sherry) Lu (Immersive Technology Specialist and Developer, PVC Education)
Seyha Sok (Immersive Technology Specialist and Developer, PVC Education)
