Tech Explorations

Innovation in the sphere of Immersive experiences requires extensive exploration into the technologies that can support them. We see the value in bringing in and piloting new extended reality headsets and controllers, sensors, artificial intelligence and multi-agent AI, haptic feedback options, augmented reality input, game engines, giant screens, video projections, sanitation, eye tracking, avatars, multiplayer VR, immersive audio, virtual production, facial recognition, mocap, AI video and image generation and so much more.

Project Details

Technology explorations are part of the core work of the staff and student placements within the team, looking for ways to bring innovation to our education practice through new hardware and software.

This manifests in a range of small projects to larger initiatives which evolve into fully implemented solutions to meet a teaching need.

Credits

Technology experiments and explorations are a crucial part of the Immersive Team's endeavour. Seeing advances in technology as opportunities for further innovation in education and the wider student experience means dedicating time and energy to trying out interesting hardware and software. It is great when a student takes on this exploration in our context through their WIL project too.
