    UNFED Meeting

    Presentation & Discussion:

    1. Evaluation of the Study Club initiative – Jennifer Lawrence

This presentation will highlight the findings after eight months of operation.  The Study Club was launched in November 2018 and is facilitated by Peer Leaders who are current UNSW students and ex-Foundation Students. The aim of the Study Club is to provide a supportive environment where students can engage in productive study, receive academic guidance from Peer Leaders, develop effective study strategies to manage study workloads and improve student satisfaction and progress rates.

    2. Monitoring student performance: Student Retention Dashboard – Elizabeth Rosser & Louise Zieme

In 2018 UNSW Global Education piloted the use of Power BI to aggregate attendance and assessment data and generate a Risk Score for Foundation Studies students. This tool allows performance monitoring by program, intake, stream and individual student. Work is now underway on using the tool to explore relationships between English Entry scores and risk profiles.

    3. Diploma Program Update (Diploma in Engineering; Diploma in Science) – Dr Suzann Malaney

Students from the inaugural Diploma programs are heading towards their final exams.  Suzann will provide an update on Diploma  programs, student outcomes, student experiences and lessons learned.
